A NEW restaurant and takeaway is celebrating record-breaking sales in its first week of opening in Yate.
Hotcha said the opening in the town in December was the most successful launch of any of its stores.
Within a week of opening its doors on North Parade in Yate Shopping Centre, the branch had served more than 1,500 customers.
The UK’s only Chinese takeaway chain, Hotcha, is celebrating its most successful launch of any of its stores, with record-breaking sales in its first week of trading.
James Liang, the entrepreneur who founded the South West business, said: “We’re delighted with the performance of our latest store, but it comes as no real surprise.
"As our ninth store, we have found a formula that works and that customers love. Freshly cooked, healthy food combined with excellent customer service is what we strive for – at this, and all our stores – and customers in Yate immediately took to this.”
He added: “Since opening our first store on Baldwin Street (Bristol) just over two years ago, each store’s first week has gone on to be bigger and better than the last.
"We anticipate this trend will continue, and are already optimistic about our tenth store which will be opening soon in Stroud.”
The Yate store, in former empty units, underwent a £100,000 investment prior to opening and currently employs 10 members of staff.
Hotcha, the country’s only Chinese takeaway chain with a turnover of £1.5million, now plans to open a further 150 stores across the UK over the next five years.
