FIREFIGHTERS from Fairford and Cirencester were called to a boat on fire at Riverside Marina, Lechlade, at 12.30am this morning.
Upon arrival crews requested the attendance of the aerial appliance which was mobilised from Gloucester North. The specialist crew were required for accessing the boat which was on wooden strutts approximately 8 metres high on land.
Crews used one jet, two hosereels and six breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire which severely damaged the boat which was 16m x 4m in size. Crews were on scene for three hours.
