A COMMUNITY transport charity is celebrating the chance to bring its service closer to the Thornbury area with the opening of its new offices.
Four Towns and Vale Link Community Transport welcomed Thornbury and Yate MP Luke Hall to open its new offices in Pinkers Court, Rudgeway on Friday, April 22, along with around 40 stakeholder guests and many of the charity’s volunteer supporters.
The charity and its commercial arm Severnside Transport Ltd hope the move from its previous site in Patchway will begin a new chapter in the development of the group, which offers their service across South Gloucestershire.
A spokesman for the charity said: “A big thank you goes out to all who attended on the day.
“Four Towns and Vale Link Community Transport, being a charity, is grateful for the support of South Gloucestershire Council, with whom they provide services under an SLA, for those in the community who are transport disadvantaged.
“The day was a huge success and there were a lot of very positive comments in respect of our ‘history trail’ which was particularly pointed out for praise as it documented our history from inception to present day.“
After the opening Mr Hall said: “I am delighted to be able to join the Four Towns and Vale Link Community transport as they celebrate their new home here in Thornbury.
“Our local community transport schemes provide a wonderful service to so many people across our area. I would like to thank all of the volunteers and staff at the vale link for all of their hard work for our area.”
Four Towns and Vale Link chairman Dennis Rogers offered his congratulations to all involved, after a "well planned and executed opening".
Trustee Peter Nock also paid thanks to the organisers, saying: “A hearty well done to all the team at Four Towns are in order for what was a truly successful event.”
