FIREFIGHTERS rushed to tackle a barn fire in Oldbury-on-Severn in the early hours of yesterday morning after 150 bales of hay caught alight.
Crews from Thornbury and Patchway were called out to the farm on Nupdown Road following the reports at 4.36am, and arrived to find the bales on fire.
Two firefighters using breathing apparatus and a jet hose were able to put out the fire main fire.
The majority of the hay was removed from the barn while firefighters worked on damping out the remaining fire, eventually handing the site back to the farmer just after 1am today.
The cause is believed to be accidental.
