MP Luke Hall has backed a campaign to save a popular soft play centre in Yate from closure, by writing directly to the landlords asking them to reconsider their decision to terminate the lease.

Little Giggles located in Yate's Riverside complex has been ordered to close after the company experienced financial difficulties during their tenure.

Manager Laurie Coventry said he was initially told on September 23, told he must immediately cease trading immediately and vacate the property within seven days.

Following an intervention from its legal team, Little Giggles has been granted an extension until November 15.

Now the MP for Yate and Thornbury has joined the campaign to keep the soft play open following that.

Mr Hall had already released a statement saying his own family use the centre that houses a huge soft play area as well as a light-up dance floor and a number of sensory equipment aimed at babies at SEN children.

In an emotive letter to landlords Cushman and Wakefield, Mr Hall requested they offer Little Giggles and further extended timeframe and said he was 'extremely concerned'  that the business may need to relocate.

Mr Hall conveyed the feelings of many parents across the area saying the company is of 'huge importance' to the community.

Little Giggles manager Laurie Coventry said he was overwhelmed by the support from his customers, after one started a petition to save Little Giggles, that now has over 4800 signatures.

He said he hoped with community support and the backing from the MP, that his landlords would reconsider.

Laurie said: "I couldn't be more thankful for all of the support we have, I am hoping if the landlords sees how important we are to the community and how much we are wanted her, that they will reconsider.

"I appreciated at the beginning we weren't the best tenants, but we have completely turned it around as we said we would- we are now really god tenants and we hope to stay.

Luke Hall's letter is in full is here:

"I am writing in full support of a local business in my constituency, Little Giggles Soft Play, regarding the current difficulty that are facing with their contractual agreements.

"Located in the Riverside Retail Park in Yate, Little Giggles is a hugely popular and well-known service in the local community which has offered excellent support to families throughout South Gloucestershire including my own.

"I was extremely concerned to hear that the business is potentially facing the need to relocate and that they could see their current tenancy terminated, which I understand has occurred with very short notice.

"As the local member of Parliament, I would be very grateful if Cushman and Wakefield would immediately review this specific situation and I would appreciate any greater support and timeframe the company could be afforded.

"I would welcome any extended timeframe you could allow in order for the management to discuss this matter and seek a suitable and viable outcome for all parties involved.

"The local company is of huge importance to children and parents in South Gloucestershire and on behalf of the community, I would appreciates Little Giggles Soft Play having the maximum possible time to seek a solution and resolve the current circumstances."
