YATE'S free music festival was double the fun this year.
Around twice the number of people poured into Kingsgate Park for the family fun concert on Saturday.
Organisers estimated that 3,000 revellers turned up for the line-up of rock and pop music on stage in the park.
Families enjoyed picnics as cover band Tundra played well-known hits by the Police, Kaiser Chiefs, U2 and even Abba.
There was also a free bouncy castle, face painting, inflatable football matches and a DJ mixing booth on board the Kingswood Bus Project.
Organiser Yate town councillor John Ford said: "We had almost double the number of people there so we were very pleased.
"It was another very successful event and everybody has been very positive about it.
"Even when the rain came down, it didn't dampen people's spirits and there were people dancing in the rain."
The event was the third annual festival to be held at Kingsgate Park, where a tree-top adventure playground opened earlier this year.
It was organised and funded by Yate Town Council and councillors are already planning next year's festival.
