AN update has been released by police after a murder investigation was launched in Cheltenham over the weekend.
Two men aged 63 and 75 were arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 80-year-old man.
Police were called to a property at Welland Court at around 7pm on Sunday after a report that a man had been seriously injured.
The man was found with fatal wounds within a property and was declared dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place today, Tuesday. April 16.
Meanwhile, a warrant of further detention has now been granted in connection with the 63-year-old man.
Cheltenham Magistrates Court authorised an additional 36 hours of detention during a hearing yesterday, Monday, April 15.
The 75-year-old man was released from custody yesterday and will face no further action, police say.
