POLICE have issued an alert after a pride banner was stolen in Wotton.

Officers say the flag was taken down and stolen at approximately 2.35am on Friday, May 3 from near the war memorial in Old Town.

The banner featured information about the first ever Wotton Pride which is due to take place on Saturday, June 15.

It comes as a similar incident happened in August 2022 where a sign about Dursley Pride was vandalised twice.

The banner was slashed and the statement "pride is a lie" scribbled over the word Pride.

Dursley Pride which is now in its third year is due to take place on Monday, August 26.
