POLICE have issued a warning to members of the public after a suspicious rogue trader has been seen going door to door across the Stroud area.
A spokesperson from Stroud Police said in a community alert that officers have received multiple reports of the male spotted yesterday, Tuesday, May 14.
It is alleged the man was seen in Berkeley, Eastington, Purton, Breadstone, Coaley and Stroud targeting homes.
The police spokesperson said: “We have had a run of calls into police regarding Nottingham Knockers.
“Generally they are salesmen going door to door selling either cleaning or gardening products at very inflated prices.
“Vulnerable persons are a target.
“Generally these persons are ex-convicts on a rehabilitation scheme, however, they could also be checking a property out.
“We have reports of a male around the 30's age range with a northern accent around 6ft in height and muscular build.
“Some reports have stated the male was pushy bordering on aggressive in nature, however, other reports suggest he was polite.
