ULEY-BASED duo The Welcome Parrots will be performing their eclectic mix of blues, folk and Americana at gigs in Hillesley and Dursley this weekend.
Ken Lush (mandola, mandocello and guitar) and Phil Harris (guitar) also give their own takes on pop classics and original pieces, sprinkled with a healthy dash of humour.
Phil and Ken have worked together for the best part of 35 years including popular pub rockers “Short Elbow” and the slick jazz/roots quartet “Club of No Regrets”.
“Whilst we have a style,” Ken said. “We don’t stick to any particular genre; if we like a song, we play it. It’s all about enjoyment.”
The Welcome Parrots will perform at the Fleece in Hillesley on Saturday from 8.30pm and at the Old Spot in Dursley from 5pm on Sunday.
Both events are free.
