GLOUCESTERSHIRE theatre company Spaniel in the Works present Trenchcoats for Goalposts: Christmas Truce 1914 in the Prince Michael Hall, Dean Close School on November 12.
Trenchcoats for Goalposts promises a compelling ninety minute show recounting a famous moment from the First World War. Inspired by local stories and memories, two brave Cheltenham Town FC players set off from Cheltenham for the front line.
Speaking for the Spaniel in the Works, John Bassett said “Audiences will be transported in theatre, spoken word, live music and song to No Man’s Land in a moving and often funny re-creation of the 1914 Christmas Truce. The drama is adapted to each venue in order to be historically relevant to the town in which we perform.”
Presented by a host of Gloucestershire's finest performers featuring the inimitable 'Private' Johnny Fluffypunk, John Bassett, Bill Jones, Uta Baldauf, Stuart Butler, Paul Southcott and Angela Findlay, with Crispin Thomas and Jeff The Fuse, of Out To Lunch.
All tickets cost £12.00. For more information and to book tickets visit www.bacontheatre.co.uk or call the Bacon Theatre on 01242 258002, or www.spanielworks.co.uk
