Douglas Marshall

DOUGLAS MARSHALL After nearly 100 years on planet Earth Douglas Marshall is now in heaven with wife Eileen. The last three years Douglas was in care in Willow Ward, Chestnut Court Quedgeley where he received brilliant care from staff that made his later years more comfortable. Douglas is survived by daughter Jacky, son Peter and many Grandchildren. After serving in the Royal Gloucester Hussars in Eygpt for four years, In 1944 Douglas returned and worked for R A Listers for 44 years. A keen sportsman he played, football, hockey and golf but his best sport was cricket where he played for Stinchcombe Stragglers and was also offered a place in the Gloucester County team which he turned down in favour of becoming a family man. Probably best known locally for telling and re telling jokes but you had to listen cos every now and then there would be a new one. Well done Dad you did indeed have a wonderful life.
