I am so very sad to hear of the death of Stan, my dear godfather. He had such an amazing life and was always very interesting, kind and fun. He and June were great army friends of my parents and they seemed to have had an amazing life in the army, sometimes being stationed in various parts of the world together.

I had been trying to reach him to tell him of the death of my dear mother and to let him know he featured in a book she wrote that we are typing up. I managed to track him down to his retirement village from press articles. When he didn’t reply I feared something might have happened to him so I have been trying to check he was ok. I’m so very sad not to have seen him in recent years. I would dearly love to join the celebration of his life at St John’s Church if that has not already happened. But I have no contact details for anyone close to him.
