HILL Dr. Ann 'Jacquelin' Highly respected GP in Dursley for 30 years. Born in Calcutta to James Hill and Ann Douglass Hill on June 20, 1935. Early schooling at the Maynard School, Exeter, medical training at Kings College. London. First practiced at Wolverhampton; Christchurch, NZ; and on an Australian sheep station. Became a partner with Dr. Francis Gammon in Dursley in 1973. There, she was active in the Dursley Bird Watching and Preservation Society and the Bristol and Gloucester Gliding Club. She was a member of the church and choir of St. James' The Great as well as The Quarry church congregation. She was a prison visitor and helped in a clinic in Hyderabad, India, The Institute for Rural Health Studies. She had a wide circle of friends and family that spanned various continents and she never missed a birthday. She left behind her long-time home at 37 The Quarry last year and joined the community at Yercombe Lodge making valuable friends there. Jacquelin will be sorely missed by all her family and friends. Funeral service to be held on Friday 3rd May 2024, 3 p.m. at St. James' The Great Church, Dursley. A service of Committal will take place at Gloucester Crematorium at a later date.
