HEAVY rain over the weekend caused a land slip which has blocked a road in Wotton-under-Edge.
The land slip occurred in the early hours of Sunday, November 25, depositing large quantities of mud and foliage onto the Old London Road between the B4058 and B4060, Gloucester Street.
The road was closed from the top of Rushmire Hill and currently remains closed.
Gloucestershire Highways are aware of the situation and intend to survey the site tomorrow, although this is dependent on the weather conditions.
A Gloucestershire County Council spokesman said: "We’re trying to ascertain who owns the bank, whether it is us or a landowner.
"At the moment the weather is dictating what will happen but they (Gloucestershire Highways) will be surveying the site tomorrow."
