SANTA’S red sleigh has landed on the roof at Dyrham Park for a seasonal stay at the National Trust property.
The sleigh, laden with presents and accompanied by reindeer, is making a flying visit to the rooftop walkway, created while the 17th century Baroque mansion house is fitted with a new roof.
Kate Collins, visitor and volunteering experience manager, said: “It’s not often you get to see Father Christmas’s sleigh on the roof of a 17th-century mansion house, but you can this year.
“It’s your last chance to go up on the walkway and see the roof replacement and enjoy the views out over the park and garden as the walkway, which opened in May, will close at the end of the month. Look out for the rustic reindeer too.”
The walkway is open until December 20.
Elsewhere in the park, little wooden reindeer have been hidden behind trees.
Father Christmas himself is appearing at Old Lodge during weekends in December and will be listening to children’s wishlists and handing out gifts.
