AN Afternoon Tea Party is being held at Jenner Court, Salter Street, Berkeley on Friday, July 15 from 2 to 4pm.
This special event is being organised by local community organisation World Jungle to celebrate the work of their ‘Full of Life’ project in Berkeley and Sharpness over the past few months. It is open to everyone to come and enjoy afternoon tea and cake with entertainment and some stalls to browse too.
The ‘Full of Life’ project which was supported by Gloucestershire County Council’s Community Chest Fund, focused on improving the health and wellbeing of older people, helping people to stay active and feel connected in their community. Activities have included regular sessions held at venues across Berkeley and Sharpness, supporting existing clubs and service providers, together with offering training for volunteers around supporting older people to maintain their independence and stay active in their communities.
Fiona Campbell from World Jungle said: “It has been a wonderful opportunity to be able to extend the ‘Full of Life’ project to support people living in and around Berkeley and Sharpness. We hope this event will bring together many of the people we have met along the way, including both those who have attended our events and sessions, together with volunteers who have got involved in supporting older people in our communities.”
