A FORMER Bristol Rovers footballer is moving into a new housing development in Chipping Sodbury.
Steve White, 58, who played for Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town and Cardiff City in a career spanning four decades recently purchased a four-bedroom townhouse at Barnhill Gate with his wife Amanda.
The couple previously lived in Old Sodbury just three miles away, but decided to make the move after a chance visit to the Bloor Homes development, located near to the high street.
Ex-professional footballer Steve, who played for Swindon during their only season in the Premier League in 1993-1994, said: “I was born in Chipping Sodbury many years ago and luckily my wife likes the area too.
“We were both really taken by the Brierley show home and we were adamant that we must have the exact house we saw because it is such a lovely property.”
Steve, who also managed Chippenham town during his career, added that the town is perfectly placed for all of their needs.
“The location is just ideal because it’s fairly close to the town centre.
“The quality of life is great as there are several nice restaurants, pubs and lovely shops which we enjoy visiting.”
