A BAND of volunteers who helped to save a cinema have said thank you and goodbye to a dedicated member.
At the Wotton Electric Picture House's recent annual meeting, Alex Alliston-Greiner announced he would be stepping down from the committee which he helped to lead during the renovation and re-establishment of the cinema.
Jeff Walshe, chairman of the cinema's committee, said: "The amount of work Alex put into this project cannot be underestimated and it is without doubt that the cinema would not be open today if it were not for his efforts and the support of a magnificent team effort.
"We are grateful that he has agreed to continue to help for a few more months to implement new upgrades related to our latest grant from the Cory Environmental Trust and we wish Alex every success in any new venture he commits to."
Mr Alliston-Greiner is believed to be moving on to other projects.
