UPDATED plans for a Waitrose store and 300 homes in Chipping Sodbury are to be put on display for a second round of public consultation.
Developer Chelverton Deeley Freed hopes to build the supermarket, a small row of shops and residential homes on 30 acres at the derelict Barnhill Quarry site, just 100 metres from the town's centre.
The group first presented the plans to the town in June in two public exhibitions.
The response was positive with most of the 500 people who visited the consultation backing the plans.
The developer is now to hold a second consultation in February with revised proposals, including more detailed designs.
Director of Chelverton Deeley Freed, Paddy Fox, said: "The consultation report published following the events in June showed that the proposals were well supported by the majority of those who attended.
"The public were also keen to view more detailed designs as development proposals were progressed and this is what we propose to deliver.
"We are again keen to hear what the public have to say and have organised a public exhibition.
"As is normal for a scheme of this size and complexity, we have had an intense period of investigations on the site which we are currently in the process of evaluating and collating.
"The team is now in the process of working up new detailed proposals for the regeneration of the former Barnhill Quarry site and these will take several months to finalise."
A planning application to South Gloucestershire Council is likely to be the developer's next step following the public consultation.
The public exhibitions will be held at Sodbury Town Hall on Wednesday, February 27 and Thursday, February 28.
