IT doesn't happen often in little out-of-the way country churches, but the next concert at Aust church has sold out way in advance of the event..
Music in the Church at Aust' can certainly be described as a success story.
Started by Peter and Gina Dobbins, the project is run from their home in Aust, South Gloucestershire.
Aust Director of Music Peter Dobbins said: "We aim to provide opportunities for our local community to listen to music that they wouldn't hear anywhere else around here and, clearly, the people of South Gloucestershire are adventurous enough to want to try all kinds of musical experiences.
"The Music in the Church at Aust programme has been running for over ten years now, but we could not have kept presenting world class music without the funding we have received from sources like the Arts Council and the Early Music Network.
"More locally, we are especially grateful to South Gloucestershire Council who have been remarkably supportive over the years."
This weekend's Christmas Concert will be presented by Joglaresa, a group specializing in mediaeval music from the Mediterranean and Middle East - the programme of mediaeval Mediterranean Christmas music is entitled Cristo è Nato and has attracted a capacity audience of 130.
