LYNGO Theatre presents two magical new children's shows in the egg theatre, Bath, this Christmas.
A UK premiere of Hansel and Gretel opened yesterday - the show continues until December 31.
For Hansel and Gretel, Lyngo has teamed up with Italian children's theatre company Academia Perduta, to produce a new musical version of the traditional fairy tale, in a show suitable for children aged four years and over and their families.
Patrick Lynch and Amy Michaels play the title roles, as well as appearing as Mum and Dad, and the two witches.
Creator and director Marcello Chiarenza, said: "I first made this show in 2000 with Academia Perduta' and it went on to win the prestigious Strega Gatto award for children's theatre. It has been our ambition to take this show to the UK for years and we have finally done it.
"This new production is really musical theatre with wonderful songs and a great score by Carlo Capelli.
" We've put new tricks and illusions into the original production without compromising A second show, Circus Minimus, has its world premiere on December 27 and runs until January 6.
Circus Minimus is the sequel to the very successful Egg and Spoon by Lyngo. Also a piece for early years, this show is based on a circus ring with the young audience sitting with their family around the edge of the ring and watching, or very often getting involved in the action in the central ring.
