A NEW history DVD of Yate has been launched just in time for Christmas.
The film features never-before seen footage of the town from eras gone and historical evidence of what Yate was like in medieval, Roman and Victorian times.
It has been produced by 1st Take, of Sunnyside Lane, Yate and compiled by staff at Yate Heritage Centre.
David Hardill, community heritage officer at the centre, said: "It is a fantastic film and will make a great present for Christmas.
"We are all very pleased with it and have been working on it for the past year."
The film also features maps, members of the public's film footage and new historical evidence of Yate.
"This is the most comprehensive history looking at Yate from all the possible evidence we have available," said Mr Hardill.
The last similar film was released in 1993 but Mr Hardill said research tools had moved on in 14 years and this DVD offered people much more in-depth history.
The film is available from Yate Heritage Centre from Friday or 1st Take on 01454 321614.
