POLICE are warning residents to be on their guard against distraction burglars following an incident in Filton.
Three men called on the property of an elderly woman in Rodney Crescent at around 7.15pm last Friday.
One of the men told the resident he was a policeman before he and two others entered the property and searched the house.
After the men left, the resident noticed that cash had been stolen.
The first man was described as white, aged about 20, 5ft 3ins tall, of slim build. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with a white pattern on the front.
He had short dark hair, a round face, was clean shaven with a clean complexion. He was also wearing a dark navy blue fleece style jacket, navy blue trousers and navy blue gloves.
The other two men were both white, aged between 20 and 25 and wearing identical clothing to the first man.
