Christmas Message From Chris Galbraith, Mayor of Wotton-under-Edge After another busy year at the Town Council , as Christmas 2007 rapidly approaches , it's time to thank all the community for their help and involvement towards making the Town a better place to live and work. We also welcome our 6 new Councillors who have brought new perspectives (and perhaps even dynamism!) to our deliberations and decision making. Thanks also to those Councillors who retired last May and during the current Civic year for their hard work for the Town.
The Town Council and Town Trust continue to be very pro-active towards the provision and maintenance of facilities and buildings for the use and enjoyment by all residents and businesses in the area.
Being at the edge of both the County and District areas , I feel that we are sometimes forgotten when it comes to distribution of resources , but that on the other hand , all the many community groups and organisations make up for that lack by doing what Wotton does best , working together to create and fund those facilities needed and valued by residents. So thanks to all of them and long may they prosper.
May I , on behalf of all our Councillors and Staff , wish everybody a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New year.
