Christmas message from Councillor Bob Griffin, Mayor of Thornbury.
IN MAY this year I had the honour of being appointed Mayor of Thornbury an honour that I was very pleased and proud to receive.
Since May both Marie my Consort and I have been invited to attend many functions in and around Thornbury, many of these events have been organised by volunteers.
I attended such an event in the Town Hall recently; to thank all the members of Volunteer Link, and also to the people who give up their time to fill the vacancies advertised by this service.
I wish to extend my thanks to all the volunteer groups in Thornbury, and the local area, who tirelessly work on our behalf to give Thornbury such a marvellous caring community. This is just one of the many things which make Thornbury the town that we all enjoy living in.
On behalf of the councillors and the staff of Thornbury Town Council may I wish all the residents of Thornbury a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
