ANOTHER Thornbury store has been held up by robbers.

Hooded raiders grabbed around £250 from the till at the One Stop Shop in Primrose Drive after throwing a brick at a young woman assistant.

The shop worker was unhurt but police have expressed alarm at the incident and have appealed for witnesses.

The robbery last Wednesday evening occurred only three days after a knifepoint raid at the Threshers off licence store in Oakleaze Road, when a solitary male offender escaped with £120 from the till.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with that incident.

Sgt Craig Ogborne said: "This latest incident was extremely frightening for the young female and a colleague who was also in the shop.

Fortunately the brick did not hit anyone and they were left badly shaken rather than hurt.

"But this was a serious incident and we need to trace these offenders before they strike again."

The two young offenders, both white but wearing balaclava hoods, entered the shop at around 8pm and hurled the brick before demanding cash.

Police were this week studying shop CCTV surveillance footage. An item of clothing left behind by the robbers was also undergoing forensic examination.

Sgt Ogborne said that inquiries into the Threshers raid were progressing.

"Following the report of the incident in the Gazette an anonymous caller rang police to suggest the identity of the offender and we are currently following this up," he said.
