An open air baptism service was held on the St Mary’s Primary School field in Thornbury last weekend.
The Thornbury parish has a large backlog of baptisms and these two were the first ones held after 18 months of disruption due to Covid.
The service was conducted by Archdeacon Hilary of Gloucester with the actual baptising done by Revd Joy Ludow.
A crowd gathered on the school field to take part in the service to christen Beau and Noah. Noah’s big brother Archie was in attendance, having been one of the last to be baptised in the church before lockdown.
It is hoped christenings will resume in the church very soon.
