The winner of the favourite painting poll at Thornbury Art Club’s summer exhibition has been announced.
Nearly 800 people attended the exhibition, held at Thornbury Methodist Church Hall, and were asked to select their favourite work.
No.91, ‘Festive Phoebe’, by Pauline Wilson-Smith received the most votes.
Second place went to No.12, ‘Millend Wood’ by Mary Drown.
Third was No.45, ‘At Work’ by Anne McAllister.
This year’s exhibition was a return to the norm after last year’s had to be held virtually due to Covid restrictions.
Fiona Foyer, the art club’s new exhibition secretary, said she was thrilled at how things went.
“It was all teamwork,” she said.
“It was lovely to see old friends bumping into each other at the exhibition. Definitely a social occasion.”
Thornbury Art Club are always on the lookout for new members.
Anyone interested in joining the group, and potentially exhibiting next year, should visit thornburyartclub.org.uk for more information.
