A MUM from Yate has been nominated to represent Bristol in the finals of Ms Great Britain 2021.
Wedding hairdresser and mum-of-two Nicola Clancy made the finals after entering the Bristol competition the day before the closing date.
After submitting her application that included a photograph and 60 words, Nicola immediately caught the eye of organisers who crowned her Ms Bristol and offered her a place in the Ms Great Britain finals.
The competition is a spin off from the creators of Miss Great Britain for competitors over the age of 28.
Nicola is hoping to bring home the crown in the finals of the beauty pageant that will be held in Leicester in September.
Nicola said her children Ellie and Lewis are proud of her accomplishments so far and are supporting her to win the prestigious title.
“This is a dream come true to be a part of Ms Great Britain.” Said Nicola who is being backed in her campaign by Mayor of Chipping Sodbury, James Ball.
“All I can be is myself and I hope to inspire other women to believe you can be accepted and shine no matter what. You age like a fine wine girls!”
Competitors are encouraged to support a charity and Nicola will be raising funds for Cancer Research.
She added: “I chose to raise money for Cancer Research as I have two very special people affected with cancer.
“I am hoping to raise over a £1,000 with a muddy race for life, a raffle to win a wedding and an with ab sail down Southmead hospital.
To win Nicola will have to beat off competition from a previous Miss Great Britain winner.
