A Thornbury travel agent is offering PCR tests for budding holidaymakers.
C The World Travel has become a Covid-19 PCR testing hub in partnership with Eurofins Covid Testing Services.
In-store testing is now taking place, with self-swabbing overseen by trained professionals in a designated part of the store.
Test results will be delivered within 24-36 hours of the sample being received by the Eurofins laboratory. The partnership means holidaymakers will be able to access the PCR testing needed for international travel without the need to post their samples.
C The World is part of The Travel Network Group, the UK’s largest independent travel membership organisation which identified Eurofins Covid Testing Services as a recommended supplier in April. Eurofins is a Government approved testing company that offers PCR tests for £44.90 and is also partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
C The World director Carolyn Park said: “We volunteered to become a testing hub because we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to help our customers travel safely again, with minimal cost and disruption.
“PCR testing is enabling people to visit loved ones, travel for business or take much needed holidays again, so helping holidaymakers and our wider community access low cost, reliable and efficient private testing seems like the right thing to do.
“We aim to be a one-stop-shop for people’s travel needs, so if people need advice on travel rules and regulations, want to know more about testing for travel or just want to drop off a test conveniently we can help.”
Gary Lewis, CEO of The Travel Network Group, said: “We are delighted that Carolyn and her team are going the extra mile for their customers and have volunteered to become testing hubs for their communities, to make the testing process even more straightforward.
“PCR testing is crucial to the reopening of international travel and we are pleased that our Members can recommend low cost, reliable and efficient testing to their customers.”
