Thornbury sealed promotion to the top division of the West of England Premier League by crushing Hatherley & Reddings by 330 runs at The Ship Field on Saturday.
Starting the final day top of the table, but just a point ahead of Corsham and Goatacre, Thornbury needed to win and muster as many bonus points in possible to ensure their 150th anniversary season would end with silverware.
The club were able to call upon Gloucestershire club and T20 captains Chris Dent and Jack Taylor, and their star quality shone through as Thornbury racked up 423/5 from 45 overs after choosing to bat.
Dent made 165 and Taylor an unbeaten 188 from 87 balls. Taylor's incredible innings included 14 sixes, five of which came in the same over.
Tom Bradley and Danny Slade then each took four wickets and Taylor the last two as the visitors were skittled for 93.
Having both won more and lost fewer games than any other side in the league, it is hard to argue Thornbury do not deserve their promotion following many years in the second tier.
