A Gloucestershire cricketer has gone viral after an unfortunate incident during a game at the weekend was caught on camera.
Patrick Mason was bowling for Hillesley CC during an intra-squad friendly match on Sunday.
He got away with bowling a waist-high full toss, as batsman Thomas Anderson sliced the ball straight back to him and set off for a risky single.
But not only did Patrick drop the simple return catch, he missed a run out chance as well as his throw from a couple of yards away missed the stumps with the batsman halfway down the pitch.
The clip has received thousands of likes and shares after being posted on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok with cricket fans revelling in the bowler's misfortune.
Patrick did end up with tidy figures of 1/15 from four overs however and ended up on the winning side as his team triumphed by 21 runs.
Hillesley club captain Andy Starling, who also runs the Falcon Steakhouse in Wotton-under-Edge, said: "It was getting down to the last couple of overs, so it became a bit of a hit and run game.
"Poor Pat never thought it would go as viral as it did!
"He could see the funny side of it though."
