A PUB'S licence is under review after police said it had failed to address complaints of loud music and customer behaviour.
The Golden Lion, in Frampton Cotterell, is to go before a licensing review committee following a request by Avon and Somerset Police.
The police claim issues of underage drinking, loud music and car park brawls at the Greene King tenancy pub, in Beesmoor Road, have escalated within the last year.
Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Andy McIlrath said: "We have had a high number of incidents and complaints of late night rowdiness at the pub.
"With the South Gloucestershire licensing department we attempted a number of actions with licence holders to resolve the problem.
"But none of which resulted in improvement, leaving us with no option but to request for the licence review."
The pub's joint managers, Zak Lehman and Clive Parker, have both resigned after only six months in charge.
They established an adjoining Indian restaurant, The Golden Spice, and claim to have taken measures to turn around the pub's bad reputation'.
Mr Parker said: "We were always facing a losing battle. Ever since we took over the pub and set up the Indian there was a witch hunt against us from the local community.
"We installed a noise measure and fitted in CCTV cameras but still people complained.
"This is not a quiet old man's social club, this is a pub. Local people need to take that on board.
"It is a sad end for me and many of our loyal customers, the last thing they need is another managerial change."
Toby Brett, area manager of Greene King, said an action plan had been put in place to tackle the issues raised by police.
He promised fewer live events and close liaison with the police and local authority.
He said: "We are naturally concerned about the issues that local residents and police have raised.
"We have a reputation for running good pubs and will do everything possible to ensure that the Golden Lion is no exception.
"As a result, the current tenants have voluntarily decided to leave the pub and we are hopeful of having new management in place in four weeks.
"While we await the licensing review, the Golden Lion continues to welcome its customers and it is business as usual."
The review of the premises licence is currently in the consultation stage until February 1.
South Gloucestershire Council's licensing committee will then decide whether to amend, alter, suspend or revoke the pub's licence to sell alcohol.
