DURSLEY will be marking Remembrance Day next week, with a parade and a wreath laying event.
Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, is commemorated every year on and around November 11 to remember those who gave their lives in the two world wars and all who have died in combat since.
On Thursday, November 11 a wreath will be laid at the World War 2 memorial at 11am.
The World War 2 memorial is located at the pavilion on the War Memorial Recreation Ground, Dursley.
And then on Sunday, November 14 there will be a Remembrance Day parade in the town centre.
Participants are asked to assemble at the bus station in May Lane, Dursley at 2.15pm.
At 2.30pm, the parade will leave the bus station and then head via May Lane, Castle Street and Silver Street to outside St James’ Church and then continue in to Long Street.
At 3pm, the Remembrance service starts at the Memorial Gates outside St James’ Church. At 3.30pm wreaths will be laid at the gates for the Act of Remembrance, and then the parade will reform and dismiss.
