JENNY Joseph's famous poem Warning' is their code.
Over the top' bright red hats and dazzling purple dresses is their uniform.
And fun, silliness and friendship beyond middle age is their testament.
This is the Yate branch of the famous Red Hat Society.
More than 20 of its members gathered at Hinton Grange Hotel on Saturday to celebrate the branch's third birthday.
Queen of the disorganisation' - as they like to call it - Margo Cevik said: "We are all about having fun, creating mayhem and bringing enjoyment to others.
"We have about 28 members and we all wear the big red hats and purple dresses when we meet.
"It is all about having a laugh and growing old disgracefully!"
The international society, established in America in 1998, takes its name from the opening lines of Jenny Joseph's poem Warning, which starts when I am an old woman I shall wear purple, With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me'.
The group meets at Frome Valley Farm in Frampton Cotterell on the first Friday of every month.
Anyone interested in joining the group should call Mrs Cevick on 01454 881959.
