A WEATHER warning is set to come into force for Gloucestershire later today.
The Met Office yellow warning for fog will be in force from 7pm today (January 17) to 12pm tomorrow. It covers much of the country, including all of Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire.
The Met Office said areas of fog, some of it dense and freezing, will develop in the county during Monday evening and overnight, persisting into Tuesday morning in places.
The fog will mean visibility may dip below 100 metres in some locations. This is therefore the possibility of some travel disruption.
Forecasters said the fog will tend to lift into low cloud in many areas on Tuesday, though a few spots may stay foggy into the afternoon.
Temperatures will fall close to or slightly below freezing for many overnight tonight, with a minimum temperature of -2 °C.
Gloucestershire will see a cold and frosty start Tuesday, with temperatures close the average for mid-January, but locally cold where fog persists, and a maximum temperature of 8 °C.
