KINGSHILL House, Dursley is hosting a Poetry and Music Night with David Ashbee, Peter Wyton and Geoff Wyatt - on Friday, February 8 (8pm).
David Ashbee has performed his poetry at Cheltenham Literary Festival, Bath, Bristol and the Isle of Wight. Celebrated poet U.A. Fanthorpe described him as "an incisive poet, brilliant at conveying tactile sensations, the strangeness of the moment." He has published three collections of poetry and his latest, Loss Adjuster, was launched exactly a year ago at Kingshill House.
Peter Wyton is currently Poet Laureate for the Gloucestershire 1000 Project. He recently reached the final of the BBC Radio 4 Poetry Slam Competition and stood in for U.A. Fanthorpe at the 2007 Cheltenham Festival of Literature.
Local poets David and Peter will be joined by singer/guitarist Geoff Wyatt who is well-known on the folk scene for his original guitar techniques. His songs include blues, traditional ballads, and his own compositions.
