MORE than 700 people attended a service at Gloucester Cathedral on Monday to pay tribute to a teenager Ramarni Crosby.

In a deeply moving service, family, friends and members of the community came together to say farewell to the much loved 16-year-old, who died in December following a fatal stabbing.

The cathedral tower was lit blue for the seven days prior to the funeral, as a tribute to Ramarni.

It was his favourite colour.

Blue balloons were also held by people lining the route to the crematorium, along Coney Hill Road.

A week before the funeral, Ramarni’s uncle Danny Davis completed a month of 5k runs to raise money for youth services in the area.

Hundreds of people took part and so far more than £25,000 has been raised for youth outreach services in the area.

Further events are being held to continue the fundraising, with a football fun day being held in Ramarni’s memory later this month.

It is taking place at Tuffley Park, Podsmead, on Saturday, February 26 at 3pm.
