EMERGENCY SERVICES were called to a prominent road in Thornbury which was shut due to a tree falling on the power line.
Police were at the scene dealing with a tree that fell on to a power line on the B4061 Thornbury Road near to Thornbury Leisure Centre.
Officers had to close this road in both directions as it was not safe for pedestrians and road users.
At the time of the post, police said they were unsure how long this road would be shut for, advising road users to take alternative routes.
The fire service said that the road closure was likely to be in place for a significant time.
