Deaths
COLLARD Julia Louise
Passed peacefully at The BRI on 17th May 2022, aged 71 years.
Who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all of her family and friends.
Funeral Service to take place at Westerleigh Crematorium on Wednesday 22nd June at 12:30pm, followed by a Memorial Service at Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church.
The family have requested that the congregation wear colourful clothes.

ELLIS Eric
Passed away peacefully on 16th May 2022 aged 78 years.
Eric was predeceased by his wife of almost 55 years, Valerie who passed away on February 24th 2022.
Eric leaves behind his children Richard Ellis (Clare) and Elizabeth Rorstad (Elmer), sister June Baxter (Martin), grandchildren Harry, Rhian, Samuel and James, plus nephews David and Peter, brother in law Richard and many lifelong friends.
Eric started his career as an apprentice in the Merchant Navy working for Esso in the engine rooms of oil tankers. After meeting and marrying Valerie, he moved on to work at Southmead Hospital as an engineer after which his two children were born.
Around this time he spent many years involved with the Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society where he met many lifelong friends. Continuing his career he worked for 25 years as part of a tight knit group of Shift Charge Engineers at the Berkeley Nuclear Laboratories, after which he semi-retired, travelled and enjoyed more time with his family.
Eric will be missed dearly by his family and friends, be remembered for his precision engineering and witty sense of humour; but will be reunited with his beloved Val.
Funeral will be held at The Bristol Memorial Woodlands at 10.15am June 13th. All are welcome. Donations to Alzheimer’s Research UK can be sent c/o Philip Ford and Son, Dirleton House, Cainscross Road, Stroud GL5 4ES.
HAWKINS Joan
Widow of Walter Hawkins and lately of The Loans, Alveston, died peacefully at Windmill House, Old Down on the 25th May aged 98.
Funeral Service to take place at St. Mary’s Church, Olveston on Monday 13th June at 12 noon.

JONES Roy
of Olive Grove, Dursley.
Beloved Husband, Brother, Father, Grampy and Great Grampy.
Died at home on 1st June 2022, aged 81.
Funeral service to be held at the Dursley URC Tabernacle Church on Monday 20th June 2022 at 12:00pm.

Jim died and was buried in June 2020 during the first lockdown.
A gathering for family and friends to remember and celebrate his life will take place on Saturday 25th June in the White Hart, Olveston, BS35 4DP, from 3.30pm onwards, tribute at 4.30pm.
If desired donations for the British Heart Foundation, may be made on the day, or sent to the home address.
