Update: here's the latest as police make an arrest
TRAIN passengers were left 'concerned' this morning after being held at Bristol Parkway following reports of a gun incident at Yate station.
Police stopped all trains going to and from Yate Station just before 7am this morning.
Newsquest regional editor Dan Chipperfield was on a cross-county train and said he was held at Parkway.
He said: “We had just stopped at Parkway, waiting to leave, when they announced over the tannoy that we were being held at the station because of an incident at Yate station.
"Later on they came on again to say it was a ‘firearms incident’.
"After about 30 minutes we were told the line was clear and that there was congestion but we could move on again.
"It was concerning to think about the police and the people involved in the incident as you didn’t know what happened. I hope everyone is OK.”
