ARMED police arrested a man after a 'gun incident' stopped trains running this morning.
Police say they arrested a man on suspicion of a firearms offence and sexual offences at a property near the station.
The arrest comes after commuters were told they were to be held at neighbouring stations including Cam and Parkway when police closed all lines into and through Yate Station.
Avon and Somerset Police have since confirmed they made an arrest at a property in Station Road at around 7am this morning.
A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 7am this morning armed officers arrested a man from a property on Station Road, Yate on suspicion of a firearms offence and sexual offences.

"Trains due to pass through Yate were held for approximately 20 minutes for the safety of all those involved while the arrest took place.
"Officers remain at the property and enquiries are ongoing."
Police have confirmed the arrest is not connected to an appeal for a man who has been inappropriately touching young girls in the area.
