A NUMBER of autumn wildlife events have been unveiled near Yate and Chipping Sodbury.
The events that include walks in the local countryside, helping with vital maintenance of local nature reserves and guided tours of the area will begin in September.

September 11
In order to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Dodington Parish Council has organised this guided tour around the flatter parts of Wapley Bushes Local Nature Reserve.
Meet at the Shire Way entrance to the reserve, opposite the entrance to Cherington, South Yate, BS37 8US, 2.00pm.
September 18
Wapley Bushes Local Nature Reserve Workday We shall be undertaking the annual stream clearance and other reserve maintenance walk on this autumn workday.
Meet at the Shire Way entrance to the woodland, south Yate, BS37 8US, 10.00am.
September 24
Dodington Parish Council's second Jubilee Walk at Wapley covering the Meadows and the Woodlands.
Meet at the Shire Way entrance to the reserve, opposite the entrance to Cherington, south Yate, BS37 8US, 2.00pm.
October 8
Kennedy Way pond workday.
Meet at the Kennedy Way Pond, Link Road, Yate Shopping Centre, 10.00am and parking is available at the Yate overflow car park also on the eastern side of Link Road, BS37 4AY.
October 19
Local owl expert Ian McGuire will be giving us this talk on British Barn Owls and their conservation. Please note that this talk is free and prior booking is not required. Some car parking is available at the rear of the church.

October 27
This free nocturnal owl prowl will be led by local owl expert Ian McGuire and it will include a mobile PowerPoint presentation.

October 29
A workday undertaking maintenance of the amphibian site at Kingsgate Park
Meet at the Scott Way entrance to Kingsgate Park, Scott Way, Yate, BS37 4NW, 10.00am and parking is available at the entrance of Shackleton Avenue.
November 27
This workday will be a morning of woodland planting to enhance biodiversity plus general maintenance and tidying up the reserve prior to the winter season. Meet at the Shire Way entrance to the woodland, South Yate,
BS37 8US, 10.00am.
