For the second home game on the bounce Yate Town conceded a goal inside the first five minutes but this time there was no comeback to lift supporters and the visitors cruised comfortably to the three points with experienced striker Brandon Goodship hitting a hat-trick.
The home side, who included new singings Jack Stanley and Ioan Richards, were never remotely in this one-sided affair and it was deep into stoppage time at the end of the game before they got a shot on target to test Gerard Benfield in the Salisbury goal.
Goodship opened his account after only four minutes, cutting in from the left and blasting a rising right-footed drive into the far corner of the net.
There was almost a second from Salisbury when Antonio Diaz hit the crossbar with a chip from the edge of the box soon afterwards before Josh Sommerton headed them into a 2-0 interval lead when Diaz picked him out with a deep cross from the right.
With Town failing to put any cohesive moves together throughout the second half, Goodship had an effort tipped away for a corner and substitute Devon Arnold should have finished more clinically after skipping through several half-hearted challenges in a strong run in from the right.
Salisbury got a third goal after seventy-three minutes with Goodship on hand to net from close range after Ben Thompson had done well to scrap for and win the ball despite being outnumbered in the box.
In a belated flurry, Yate's Brandon Smalley volleyed just wide of the post, Ollie Mehew forced Benfield into his first real save of the game and Matt Green sent an effort over the crossbar.
With a long period of stoppage time drawing to a close though, it was Goodship who had the last say as he competed his treble with a free-kick from distance that flew off the surface and beat Martin Horsell in the Yate goal.
Star man: Brandon Goodship (Salisbury). Attendance: 221. Entertainment rating: 3 stars.
Yate Town: Horsell, Stanley, Soady, Richards, Raison (Drew 63 minutes), Johnson, Smalley, Taylor-Clarke, Henry (Green 63 minutes), Tumelty (Ibrahim 80 minutes), Mehew. Subs not used: Evans, Digie.
The trip to league newcomers North Leigh follows on Saturday with Dorchester Town the visitors to The South West Interiors Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.
