Councillors from Yate Town Council travelled to London this morning to lay flowers at Buckingham Palace in tribute to the Queen.
Councillor Chris Willmore laid a bouquet of roses and lilies at the gates of Buckingham Palace on behalf of the people of Yate.
The beautiful bouquet was tied with poppies made by Ladden Garden residents for Remembrance Day.
A short note on the bouquet reads: "THANK YOU MA'AM FOR EVERYTHING. We give thanks for your lifetime of service and offer our sincere condolences to your family of behalf of the people of Yate."
Councillor Willmore said in a post on Facebook: "This morning, as I was in London, with the consent of our Mayor , I was privileged to lay flowers at the Palace on behalf of our community.
"It was deeply moving to queue with thousands silently filing past.
"The poppies used as a tie are part of hundreds being made by Ladden Garden residents for Remembrance Day but the residents group agreed some should be used today."
