A KIND local business is spreading holiday cheer by donating to food banks on behalf of its customers instead of sending gifts.
CAM Systems based in Draycott Business Park near Dursley has allocated a sum of money to buy and donate food to a selection of its customers’ local food banks around the UK.
Cam Foodbank as well as Stroud District Foodbank are among the charities as part of its festive goodwill.
Chris Allen, CAM head of product said: “With such hardship in the UK at the present time, the team was adamant that it wanted to break with the usual Christmas gift tradition and donate the equivalent sum of money to purchase much-needed food for so many.
“I’m really proud of the whole team for getting behind this very worthwhile cause, when there are families who are genuinely struggling to put food on the table.”
Customers will receive a card illustrated with a photo of some of the CAM team in Christmas hats that explains the donation, naming their local food bank that has received the support.
The software company which works in the tyre industry with customers across the UK have also chosen other food banks including - Worcester Foodbank, Redditch Foodbank and many others.
