A KIND landlady is offering free Christmas dinners to anyone alone or in need on Christmas Day.
Sandra Davies at The Swan in Thornbury has been running its kind free Christmas dinner tradition to locals since she opened the pub in 2011.
But this year she has decided to expand the offer to anyone in the Thornbury community who needs a ‘boost’.
Deserving locals could be receiving a three-course meal on the house with a choice of turkey, beef or salmon - with starters and desserts also included in the kind gesture.
“We always give away Christmas meals every year,” she said.
“But this year we decided to expand it to everyone in the community, not just our locals.
“They’re normally people who have lost loved ones or have problems going on.
“It’s for people who need a pick-me-up to say the least.
“There’s some really heartbreaking stories out there and we want to help give people a boost.
“There are so many deserving people out there just waiting to be nominated.”
The pub is still looking for nominations - if you know of anyone who deserves a free Christmas meal, you can message Sandra at enquiries@swanthornbury.co.uk
