A HAIRDRESSER has said that it is a dream come true opening her own hair salon in Wotton high street.
Owner Kirsten Graham, who moved to Wotton in May last year, says it has always been her dream to become her own boss and help boost people's self-confidence.
“I like to help people feel better within themselves as hair is a big part of how someone looks,” she said.
“If your hair feels and looks amazing, you feel better within yourself.
“I decided to go into hairdressing because I was always interested in doing my hair and other people's hair too.
“But ever since I started hairdressing I’ve always wanted to open a shop and be my own boss.
Kirsten started training as a hairdresser aged 17 and has trained at Malvern Hills Art and Community College and The Heart of Worcestershire College in Worcester.
She then spent seven years as a stylist at Andrew Slater Hairdressing in Malvern before working part-time at a salon in Yate and as a mobile hairdresser.
Kirsten's salon Knockout Hair is located in Long Street in the former TSB building and is set to open on January 17.
“As much as I loved doing mobile, I wanted to have more stability," she said.
“Since moving to Wotton I have been fortunate enough to find a premises in a place that I live in.
“It has been completely refurbished as it used to be the old TSB bank, so I have been able to have a say in how I wanted the layout to look.
“I won’t lie though it has been a bit stressful but I’m so excited to see the outcome of it all.
“I’m excited to share it with everyone and for people to have a relaxing time whilst having their hair done and maybe enjoy a coffee or two.
“Also, I’m offering £10 off a cut and finish to anyone who shows me this article or has seen it.”
Knockout Hair will have an open day on Saturday, January 14 from 2pm to 6pm.
It will officially open on Tuesday, January 17.
