A NEW care home in Yate is asking the community for their help to find a name – and there’s a £250 prize for the winner.
Care UK, which is currently building a new care home on Fletcher Road, is calling on local history enthusiasts and Yate residents for a name that will reflect the uniqueness of the area.
The community is being encouraged to share their suggestions based on the area’s history, landmarks or famous people.
Should their entry make the cut, the winner of the home naming competition will receive £250 – and the satisfaction of naming a new building in their area.
Justin Daley, development project manager for Care UK, said: “We name all of our homes after objects, people or places which are part of the local history of the area to reflect this.
“We’re looking forward to hearing the suggestions of what the community would like to see our new home named.
"The town has a rich history and I’m sure locals have many tales and memories to share.
"Whether you think the home should be named after a famous Yate resident or a local area of beauty, please send us your suggestions.”
